Events in Chaska, Minnesota
This year is filled with fun for everyone! Enjoy events with a more chill vibe? Attend a summer concert in the parks, or community bike ride. Want to bring your pets out to the park with you? Attend Bark in the Park and Pet Parade! Most events are free to attend and open to the public. This is possible due to generous sponsorships from our community partners.
Chaska Parks and Recreation offers sensory-friendly zones at events as well. These areas are usually adjacent to the action and offer fidget toys, headphones, and coloring or crafts.

Earth Day Celebration

McKnight Park
Updated Location: Brick City Banquet Room at the Chaska Community Center
A variety of outdoor and environmental exhibitors will help us appreciate our wonderful natural world. This FREE event. All participants receive a goodie bag.
UPDATE: There will be environmental-themed activity stations, snacks, and craft. Carver County Parks will provide a disc golf toss station, and Master Gardeners will be present with information about spring and summer gardening.
National Bike Month in May
May 1-31
May is National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities around the United States. National Bike Month provides communities the chance to highlight the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more residents to give biking a try.

Sidewalk, Trail, and Driveway Chalk Art
Add color to places you love biking by creating your own chalk art on the sidewalks, trails, or your driveway. Post photos on social media and tag us @chaskaparksandrec to share inspiration with your community. Remember to use the #ChaskaBikeMonth too!
Chaska Bike Rodeo and Community Bike Ride

Courthouse Lake
Prepare yourself and your bike for summer with this Bike Month event!
New in 2023! Enjoy yard games, music, snacks, and a community bike ride! Other activities will include:
- Bike riding practice stations
- Newspaper toss
- Watermelon drop
- Bike helmet checks
- Bike inspections
- Archery
- Helmet raffle
*Community Bike Ride (5:00-6:00 PM)
Enjoy a 4-mile ride from Courthouse Lake to Athletic Park and back. There will be one water stop, along with a pit stop at Lions Park. Riders can turn around at any point if they do not wish to ride the entire route. Helmets required for all riders. Snacks, waters, and recreational activities provided after the ride. Parking
Options for parking include street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. There are no shuttle services.
Registration
This event is a free event, but registration is required. Limited same-day registration spots available.
Don't have a bike?
Eastern Carver County School Community Education has sponsored a rentable bike fleet for this event. Medium to large bikes will be available at the event. Please sign up online for the event to use one of the bikes for the ride.

Cool off from the summer heat during Movie Mondays! These are free movie showings for all ages. Children under 11 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The Carver Vehicle Fair is back for 2023! Climb aboard heavy equipment vehicles, fire trucks, police cars, and more! There will be photo opportunities, a bounce house, yard games, and food trucks, including:

Math-in-the-Park

Looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend a day outdoors? Join us for a night in the park! Get your kids moving and thinking this summer! Each standalone event will include a fun featured activity that can be modified for any age and ability level. Activities are geared towards kids ages 5-14, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Fire and Ice Festival and Bonspiel

Eat, drink, and play the day away! Fire and Ice Festival and Bonspiel is open to the public and free to attend. Enjoy two days of live music, food and beverages (for purchase), family-friendly activities, and fireworks. The event is hosted by Chaska's Parks and Recreation Department at Firemen's Park and Chaska Curling and Event Center each summer. Bark in the Park

Veterans Park and Firemen's Park
The dog days of summer have arrived! Browse through pet-supply vendors and rescue resources, lead your pup through an obstacle course, or grab a bite to eat. Traveled Ground will perform, so bring your lawn chair and stay for the show.

The parade will start at 5:45 p.m. with the City of Chaska Parks and Recreation staff leading the way. The parade route will travel along the sidewalks from Veteran's Park to Firemen’s Park.
Parade participants may come as a “Unit, (up to 6 people)” create a float or come dressed in a favorite costume, play an instrument, decorate their bikes, or bring the family pet (on a leash or in a cage). $5 per unit (up to 6 people).
Awards and prizes will be given for the Largest Pet, the Smallest Pet, Best Costume, Best Decorated Bike and Best Overall Decoration/Unit.

Touch-a-Truck

Chaska Community Center (Parking Lot)
Our largest carnival of the year! Enjoy games and prizes, a bouncy house, complimentary popcorn and ice cream, and a Kids Dance DJ performance. Climb aboard the Chaska Public Works, Public Safety, and Parks and Recreation vehicles for an awesome photo opportunity.
Note: The Chaska Community Center parking lot (west side) will be closed all day. Please plan to carpool, use public transportation, and park in the middle school parking lots.

MUSIC, ART, FUN! Come celebrate the CD release of The Songwriters and Musicians of Carver County! Enjoy a live concert featuring music from the CD, shop local art vendors, and more. Food will be available for purchase.

Firemen's Park
Fireworks, food, and fun! This event will celebrate Mexican Independence Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Latin culture. Enjoy food and drinks from local vendors. Rain or shine. Event entertainment will move inside the Chaska Event Center if it's raining.
