The City of Chaska Parks and Recreation department strives to provide high-quality, engaging, safe programs and activities for teens in grades 6-12. Summer Events
Looking for something to do this summer? Grab your friends and join us at our FREE community events! The Back to School Bash is a great end of summer celebration before school starts this fall!
Math-in-the-Park
June 21 | 6-8 pm | Firemen's Park
July 27 | 6-8 pm | McKnight Park
Get your kids moving and thinking this summer! Each standalone event will include a fun featured activity that can be modified for any age and ability level. Activities are geared towards kids ages 5-14, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is in partnership with Mathnasium of Chanhassen West.
Book Club in the Park
Chaska Library and Chaska Parks and Recreation invite you to join the Club! Receive free copies, read, and join your friends at the park this summer. There will be book discussion, snack, and activities. This is a free book club made possible by the Friends of Chaska Library.

Summer Splash Tour
We will be venturing to four metro water parks. Water slides, drop slides, zero depth entry pools, diving boards and lazy rivers will be a part of this summer splash tour. Sign up for one or all four.
Adventure Treks for Teens
From archery to kayaking these adventures are designed for youth ages 11 to 15 as an introduction to some traditional and trendy outdoor recreation adventures.

School Year Activities
Prairie Fire Theater: Robin Hood
March 27-April 1, 2023 | 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Chaska Community Center Theater
Join your friends for the chance to perform in an original play, Robin Hood! Two professional actors/directors from Prairie Fire will audition and cast local young adults ages 7 to 16. Prairie Fire staff bring everything needed to do the show; sets, props, costumes, make-up...everything but the children! Pre-registration is required. Maximum number of participants is 84.
Two Tickets are included in the cost of the registration fee. You will receive tickets during audition check-in time. Please know what day you want for your tickets (i.e. 2 tickets for Friday, 2 tickets for Saturday or one for each show) when you drop your child off at auditions.
Showtimes are Friday, March 31st at 6:30pm and Saturday, April 1st at 10:00am.

Lifeguard Classes
Become a lifesaver! Take the lifeguard class to learn essential water safety and first aid skills that will last a lifetime.
This course trains participants in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Participants must be 15 years old by the end of the class. Once the class is completed, individuals will receive their certification and can begin working as a lifeguard! Cost: $195 per person (resident) or $220 per person (non-resident).

Volunteer Opportunities
Chaska Parks and Recreation is a perfect place to earn volunteer hours, spend time with friends, celebrate your community, and acquire new skills. Ages 13+ are welcome to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities visit our Volunteer Opportunities webpage.
