The City of Chaska Parks and Recreation department strives to provide high-quality, engaging, safe programs and activities for teens in grades 6-12. School Year Activities
Art & Enrichment
Youth Dodgeball League (ages 7-16)
Dodgeball is an excellent game for developing hand/eye coordination all while being a tremendous cardio workout. Each week, different teams are formed, and a different style of dodgeball is played.

Intro to Fusing Glass (ages 14+)
Participants will create their own small dish using bits of fusing glass. You will learn how to cut, nip and shape pieces to create an abstract or representational design of your own. You will learn the basics of glass fusing including the process that the instructor will follow after the class to finish your pieces in a kiln. Dishes will be available for pick up a week after the class.

Storybook Theatre (ages 7-16)
Once upon a time... we put on a show! Welcome to Storybook Theatre, where we take a classic fairytale and put a fun twist on it, and then you get to act it out! Do you love acting, singing, and dancing? Then Storybook Theatre will surely be a great fit for you! In just one week we'll put together a whole musical, and you get to be one of the stars!
Lifeguard Classes
Become a lifesaver! Take the lifeguard class to learn essential water safety and first aid skills that will last a lifetime.
This course trains participants in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Participants must be 15 years old by the end of the class. Once the class is completed, individuals will receive their certification and can begin working as a lifeguard! Cost: $195 per person (resident) or $220 per person (non-resident).
