Dear Lodge Participant,
I want to provide an update regarding the Chaska Community Center in response to the latest information regarding the corona virus.
Effective immediately, we are closing The Lodge and cancelling all organized Active Older Adult activities offered through Chaska Parks and Recreation. This is in effect through March 31. At that time, we will evaluate the situation. While we understand this will impact a portion of our members, we want to ensure the health and safety of older adults, who are more vulnerable to this virus. The special AOA trip registration date for members and nonmembers will be delayed until April 7 at 9:30am.
Per the updated Minnesota Department of Health’s guidelines for communities, we will be cancelling all upcoming events that expect 250 or more people. We will continue to evaluate and look to reschedule as many as possible in the future.
Currently, we are keeping the Community Center open. We are committed to your health and safety, and as a part of that mission, we want to support your ability to continue an active lifestyle. While we continue to treat this situation seriously, we feel it is also important to provide a social outlet for the community during this time of perceived isolation. Our staff continues to make sanitization a priority throughout the building, especially touch points.
We encourage everyone using the facility to be mindful of social distancing. This practice could include utilizing every other piece of equipment in the fitness center or spreading out while participating in a program. You may also see group fitness classes moving from the studio into the basketball gym.
It is still vital to remember key steps to prevent the spread of illness. If you are sick or at a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19, stay home. Wash your hands. Avoid touching your face. Wipe equipment down before and after use.
We will continue to assess this situation as it evolves. For the most up to date information visit the MDH website, CDC website and City of Chaska website.
