My water has a rotten egg odor. How do I get rid of it?: The most common cause of that smell is anaerobic bacteria reacting with sulfur and the sacrificial anode in your water heater. Replacing the sacrificial anode and increasing the temperature of your water heater should remove the odor.

1. How do I know if my toilet is leaking?: To find out if your toilet is leaking, put 3-6 drops of food coloring in the toilet tank. Wait 30 minutes and if you see food coloring in the bowl, you have a leak.

5. What do I do if my water is brown?: Typically, this can happen after we flush out our system during the spring. Open up your cold water on your faucet and keep the water flow at a steady stream for 15 minutes. If your water doesn't clear up after that, please call the Water & Sewer Department at (952) 448-4335.

6. Why does my water look cloudy or milky?: Cloudy water is caused by tiny air bubbles in the water. Generally, your water will clear up in a few seconds.
