- Window/door replacements
You can submit, pay, and receive approval for these permits through our SmartGov portal.
Online permitting for commercial and residential permits that require plan review coming later.

The Chaska Building Department staff will create a contractor registration for your business. Fill out the Contractor Form (PDF) and email it back to firstname.lastname@example.org. A contractor access code will be provided to contractors once the Building Department receives the contractor form.
Permit fees shall be assessed for work governed by this code in accordance with the fee schedule adopted by the City of Chaska.
In addition, a surcharge fee shall be collected on all permits issued for work governed by City Code in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326B.133.
Building permits do not include electrical wiring.
A separate request for inspection must be filed with the State Board of Electricity at or before commencement of any electrical wiring that is required by law to be inspected. An owner who wishes to do his own electrical wiring may obtain a Request for Inspection form by visiting the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's electrical inspections forms page.
You may also inquire by sending one dollar with a written request for the form to the State Board of Electricity at the following address:
1821 University Ave.
St. Paul, MN 55104
The State Board of Electricity may be reached by telephone at 651-284-5026 for inspection-related inquiries. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. It is the responsibility of the person filing the request for inspection to call for all required inspections.
