On Wednesday, June 21, one of the City’s municipal wells experienced a mechanical failure and was shut down. Repairs to the well are expected to take around 2 weeks to complete.
The city is still able to provide the normal water service to your home. Where we need your help is reducing non-essential watering. We are asking all of our residents to help conserve water by limiting irrigation/sprinkling and other non-essential watering uses as much as possible over the next 2 weeks.
Our main priority is making sure we have the capacity to provide safe drinking water and water for fire protection.
To boost our capacity for essential uses, the City intends to use an emergency well. The water from that well is tested regularly by the State of Minnesota and is safe to drink and use. There is a chance you could notice some discoloration in your water, but it is safe to drink and use.
If the water consumption volumes do not go down, the City will be forced to implement a full watering/irrigation ban.
We appreciate your help!
